The Employment Tribunal System Steering Board exists to promote the effectiveness of, and to provide advice on, the overall operation of the Employment Tribunal System, to ensure that it meets the needs of all of its users.
The prime role is to provide authoritative advice to the Tribunals Service CEO and the Acas CEO (who will respond to advice within the limits of their financial delegations), the relevant Director-General in BIS and, through them, Ministers both within BIS and MoJ.)
The Board may also be commissioned by Ministers in either or both departments to undertake a specific task where their expertise and Board membership make them the most appropriate choice.
